  • Suddenly the world has changed and you, your friend or relative is discovering a new industry - Aged Care.

It is a totally new and confusing environment, full of different services, entrance requirements and jargon.

There are services to support you in your own home, services to provide support for carers, services that provide accommodation and services that provide accommodation and nursing care. All of the services require an assessment, but from different organisations with acronyms and forms.

The system should be simpler, but it caters for a diverse population with different life experiences and who now have different support needs. Just because you or your friend/relative are now older, does not mean that your/their desires and daily needs have suddenly become the same as everyone else's. You or your friend/relative are still individuals.

Older people have a right to access services that meet their needs in the way they would like to be met.

CIMO's Aged Care Consultancy Program promotes awareness and understanding of the Aged Care system and supports people to explore what is important to them. CIMO can then link people to appropriate services and support them and their families through the transitional processes.

CIMO believes that appropriately tailored Aged Care supports can make a difference so that people enjoy a more successful and positive ageing experience.

CIMO's comprehensive Aged Care support approach includes five components:

    • An understanding of the person as an individual.

    • An understanding of the person's care needs.

    • Education about the Aged Care system and its processes.

    • Assistance to find and access services to meet a person's needs.

    • Evaluation to ensure that that supports put in place are meeting the person's needs in the way they want to be met.

CIMO is committed to respecting people rights to privacy.

Our experienced team at CIMO can help you to implement a support structure to achieve a safer more productive and more fulfilling living environment.

Appointments available Sunday to Thursday daytime and evenings.
